Our 2019 Merlot is fresh and elegant with a vibrant natural acidity. Fruit from our Diamond Back Vineyard on Black Sage Bench was fermented using natural yeasts. The wine was then aged in a combination of French, Hungarian and American oak barrels for twelve months. The ripe dark cherry flavours and firm tannins in this wine showcase the bounty of the South Okanagan perfectly.
Enjoy a striking combination of fruit and spice aromas on the nose - fresh prune plums, blueberries and hints of black pepper. Layers of raspberry compote, mocha and toasty oak come through next, showing the richness of the wine.
The palate is soft and textured with more plum jam and a berry medley coming through in a fresh lifted style. A smooth drinkable style with a savoury Okanagan finish of olive tapenade and smoked, cured meats.
